FAQ

Everything you need to know about ordering prescription eyewear from Peek. If your question isn’t covered below, email hello@peekeyewear.co and we’ll get back to you ASAP.

How do I order prescription glasses online?

Pick a frame, choose “Select lenses,” and select your desired lens type — single vision, progressive, or readers — along with any add-ons like blue light blocking, light-responsive, and or high index thinner lenses. After you select your lens type you'll be prompted to either upload your prescription now or send it later via email. Once your orer is received we will make your lenses in 2–3 business days and ship them free anywhere in the U.S. If you’d rather use frames you already own, our Use My Frame service replaces lenses in your existing pair.

What is pupillary distance (PD) and how do I measure it?

Pupillary distance is the space between the centers of your pupils, measured in millimeters. We use it to position the optical center of each lens directly in front of your eye, which is critical for clear, comfortable vision — especially with stronger prescriptions or progressives. Most adult PDs fall between 54mm and 74mm. If your PD is not written on your prescription you can measure yours at home. Follow our step-by-step guide at peekeyewear.co/pages/how-to-measure-your-pd. Email us the results along with your order number. A PD is a necessary measurement for manufacturing prescription lenses.

Are your prescription lenses made in the USA?

Yes. Every prescription lens we sell — clear, polarized, single vision, or progressive — is cut, polished, and coated in the United States. We source frames globally to give you a wider style selection, but the lens work, which is what determines optical clarity and durability, always happens domestically.

How long does it take to make my glasses?

Production takes 2–3 business days from the moment we receive your prescription and PD. After that, free ground shipping adds roughly 3–5 business days depending on your location. If you need them sooner, expedited shipping is available at checkout for $15. We offer UPS next day shipping for $49.95. Frames without prescription lenses typically ship the next business day.

Do you make polarized prescription sunglasses?

Yes. Most of our frames can be ordered with polarized prescription lenses for $149, compared to $95 for clear prescription. Polarized lenses cut horizontal glare from water, snow, wet roads, and reflective surfaces — making them ideal for driving, fishing, biking, and beach days. They’re available in single vision, progressive, readers, and non-prescription.

Can I send in my own frame for new lenses?

Yes. Our Use My Frame service starts at $95 for clear prescription lenses or $149 for polarized. Place the order online, then ship us your existing frame with the label we provide you. We’ll cut new lenses to your prescription, install them, and return your glasses ready to wear. This works for most acetate and metal frames in good structural condition — if your frame is damaged or unusual, email us a photo first at hello@peekeyewear.co.

What is your return policy on prescription glasses?

30 days, 100% money back — no questions asked. If your glasses don’t work out for any reason, return them within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. This applies to custom prescription pairs, not just stock items. Full details at peekeyewear.co/policies/refund-policy.

How do I read my prescription?

Your prescription lists values for each eye: OD means right eye and OS means left eye. Sphere (SPH) corrects nearsightedness (negative numbers) or farsightedness (positive numbers). Cylinder (CYL) and Axis together correct astigmatism. ADD power is the magnification for progressives or readers. Pupillary distance (PD) is sometimes listed separately, sometimes not — if it’s missing, you can measure it yourself or ask your optometrist. No need to worry about understanding every number on your prescription.  Just snap a pic and upload it.  Our in house opticians will review at and verify everything is lined up.

What features come standard on your lenses?

All our clear prescription lenses come standard with scratch-resistant coating, anti-reflective coating, and hydrophobic coating ($50 value!). We believe that a certain level of quality should come standard.

What lens add-ons do you offer?

Blue-light blocking for screen use, and photochromic (light-reactive) lenses that darken outdoors. We offer 1.67 high index lenses which are highly recommended for prescriptions with a SPH > +/-3.00. You’ll see the exact options and pricing during the "lens selection" process at checkout.

What if my prescription has prism?

We support prism corrections. Our in house optician will review all uploaded prescriptions and order the lenses as prescribed.  We do not charge extra for prism correction (Most companies charge $30+ for prism!).
