How Peek Eyewear Started
From 2020 to 2025, I worked inside an optical laboratory, where I made thousands of pairs of eyeglasses by hand. I surfaced lenses, cut them to shape, and fit them into frames, one prescription at a time. At the same time I studied vision care and became a board-certified optician. I learned something most people never see: what a quality pair of glasses actually costs to make.
The answer surprised me. The gap between what it costs to produce a great pair of glasses and what people pay at the store was enormous. Worse, some of the surcharges weren't even for upgrades. Take prism correction: if your eye doctor prescribes it, you need it to see clearly and comfortably, yet many retailers charge extra for it as if it were optional. Great glasses didn't need to cost that much. They just did.
So in 2025, I started Peek Eyewear to do it differently. For $95, you get a frame and single vision prescription lenses, with no hidden fees and no surprise upgrades at checkout. Things that should come standard are included: anti-reflective and anti-scratch coating, prism correction at no extra charge, and acetate frames with spring hinges built to last. I chose to give customers 30 days to try their glasses risk-free. As an optician, I know new glasses can take a few days to feel natural, and a frame that looked right on a virtual try-on can feel different on your face. If your pair doesn't feel right, you get 100% of your money back.
Every lens is cut at our in-house laboratory in Florida, using lenses sourced only from American suppliers. I spent years making glasses by hand, and I wasn't willing to hand that part off to someone else. Your prescription is personal, and it deserves the same care I gave every pair at the lab. My name is on this company, and so is my standard for what your glasses should be.
Clear vision shouldn't come with a huge markup, and at Peek Eyewear, it never will.
